FLCos2 is an enhanced version of the original FLCos application, reimagined with a modern tech stack to improve scalability, performance, and user experience. We used Spring Boot to build a robust backend, leveraging its powerful features like dependency injection and RESTful API development. The backend handles complex business logic, such as processing real-time industrial data and managing user permissions, while providing a secure and efficient API for the frontend.

The frontend was developed using Angular, which allowed us to create a highly interactive and responsive user interface. Angular’s component-based architecture made it easy to build reusable UI elements, such as data tables, charts, and interactive forms. The dashboard provides factory managers with a comprehensive overview of their operations, including real-time metrics, historical trends, and predictive maintenance alerts.

We replaced the original MySQL database with PostgreSQL to take advantage of its advanced features, such as support for JSON data types and better performance for complex queries. PostgreSQL stores all operational data, including time-series data from factory equipment, user activity logs, and system configurations. We optimized the database schema to ensure fast query performance, even with large datasets generated by continuous industrial processes.

A significant improvement in FLCos2 is its enhanced analytics capabilities. The system uses historical data to predict potential equipment failures, alerting managers before issues occur and reducing downtime by 15%. The application also includes a notification system that sends real-time alerts via email or in-app messages when critical thresholds are breached. Since its launch, FLCos2 has been praised for its intuitive interface and powerful features, helping the manufacturing company achieve greater operational control and efficiency.
